How do I check if a security guard's attestation is valid?
Short answer
- Compare the guard’s identity with the document, its number, issuer and occupation.
- Check employment conditions and any withdrawal communications; ask the competent police unit when clarification is needed.
- Do not infer a mandatory periodic renewal from a software deadline field. Verify the basis for any deadline.
- 4guards tracks operator-entered data, not authenticity or status in police databases.
Legal references and limits
- Law 333/2003, Articles 34 and 36–38, addresses employer responsibility, employment conditions and issuance by the competent police authority.
- Article 61 covers withdrawal. An entered deadline does not establish that a document has not been withdrawn. The consulted provisions do not establish a general periodic expiry of attestations.

Verification steps
- Record who checked the document, when and what was consulted. Resolve discrepancies before relying on the digital record.
- Enter the attestation number from the document. If using a deadline, document its basis separately; do not invent an expiry date.
- Review the deadlines list with the personnel manager. Editing a date in software does not legally revalidate a document.
Mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the software knows about withdrawn attestations or checks an official register.
- Confusing an in-panel warning with an email, SMS or push notification already delivered.
How 4guards helps
- The profile stores the number and optional deadline. The deadlines list includes active guards whose entered date is overdue or approaching, within the configured window.
- A past deadline can produce a shift-check violation. Blocking depends on enabled shift checks and account blocking settings; it is not a police decision.
- Confirm account settings and document data before scheduling. Ask the issuer about individual legal status.
